What's Your Dream Company?

We love this blog post by Derek Sivers on how to get hired.  It’s great advice on the importance of focusing on one company (or just a few), being passionate and persistent.  The end of the post also includes a link tothe story of Tom Williams getting a job with his dream company (Apple) at age 14.

It got us thinking… what’s your dream company?  And why aren’t you working there?  (If you are, congrats!)

Sometimes, given personal or economic circumstances outside of our control, we settle with the job we’ve got because it’s just easiest.  But today’s Rails market (especially in San Francisco) puts good Rails developers in full control.  In our 3+ years running mirRoR, we’ve never had so many companies hiring in San Francisco.

You know what that means, right?  Your dream company is likely hiring!  And odds are, we’re already working with your dream company (if not, we’ll get that going asap).  We know the hiring manager, the team, and exactly what the company is looking for.  We’ve got the inside scoop and would be happy to share it with you.

If you’re not sure what your dream company is, shoot us an email and we can at the very least shoot you a (long) list of leads to check out.  You might not even know your dream company is out there!  It can’t hurt to take a look and see if any one opportunity really speaks to your interests, goals, and skill set.

Hopefully we’re not sounding too idealistic here… blame it on the gorgeous day here in San Francisco, today being the first day of July, or the impending holiday weekend.  Either way, the truth is: we’d love the opportunity to hook you up with your dream company.  There’s nothing that makes us happier than finding the perfect fit for both a developer and employer.  It’s our dream job!
