Privately exchange across any platform

We are a VC backed startup in Midtown Manhattan. We are in the early stages of building a communications 'exchange' platform which allows people to very simply and privately exchange bits across/between any digial platform, but primarily http, email, and phone/mobile – the platform’s broad use spans everything from private sharing of pictures and videos with friends, to agency presentation and workflow, and small business collaboration… An early production version of the product is live and is used by thousands of people a day.

We are looking for those with extensive Ruby and/or AJAX experience 2+ years post college (with ideally some exposure to Javascript, and Flash as well) to join our growing team – this is a highly entrepreneurial flat collaborative environment where you will be asked to wear many hats and develop functionality ideas on top of executing code…. We need fun and passionate people who have an interest in learning and the raw horsepower to do amazing stuff… willingness to be a bit contrarian a definite plus.

I work at mirRoR, where we connect agile Rails developers and employers.

We started as Rails programmers ourselves (and are currently working on a few social, facebook, and iPhone apps). This background and network help us identify quality opportunities in the industry.

That’s especially important today. While many venture-backed web 2.0 startups are cutting costs amidst this economic climate, we are working with a number of companies that are self-sufficient, cash-positive, and well capitalized for the long-term.
