Digital Personality & Social Networking

We are seeking to fill two openings, a strong front-end and a strong back-end developer, to design and implement key components of our services. We are in the midst of rapid development, creating unique offerings around digital personality, social networking and web recommendation. We are angel-funded by industry executives and have a team comprised of leading research scientists and veteran software engineers.

A successful candidate will have creativity and enthusiasm, will be passionate about delivering high-quality software, and will be capable of owning large features. Preference will be given to candidates who provide a portfolio of sites with their resume and cover letter.

POSITION TITLE: Senior Developer, Front End
DURATION: Full Time

Required Skills:

• Expertise with web front-end technologies including AJAX, CSS, XHTML, and JavaScript, Scriptaculous or Dojo. JavaScript is preferred.
• Expertise developing and deploying on Linux or Unix. 
• Experience with at least one scripting language such as Perl, Python, or Ruby � Ruby is preferred. 
• Experience with frameworks such as J2EE, PHP, or Rails - Rails is preferred. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Technical brilliance and intellectual versatility must be able to learn quickly.
  

Desired skills:

• Experience with C++
• Experience with Information Architecture 
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, Oracle or MySQL.
  

Education:
A Bachelors degree is required; a Masters or better is desired.
Computer Science or Information Science is preferred, but a degree in a physical or social science, or in the humanities, with outstanding relevant experience will be considered

• Expertise with at least one scripting language such as Perl, Python, or Ruby. Ruby is preferred. 
• Expertise developing and deploying on Linux or Unix. 
• Experience with modern software engineering principles such as patterns, UML and OOAD. 
• Experience with frameworks such as J2EE, PHP, or Rails - Rails is preferred. 
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, Oracle, or MySQL. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Technical brilliance and intellectual versatility. Must be able to learn quickly.
