Stealth Community App seeks RoRers

We’re a small group of fun, highly-motivated Internet geeks. We work hard, and play harder. We’re looking for a few more people who share our passion to join us. Salaries are competitive and benefits include health and dental. You’ll have a chance to work with a rapidly growing start-up in the very early stages. We’re looking for RoR developers to help us continue to build and improve our stealth social community application. You’ll need to be able to work in a team environment to rapidly make changes to existing features as well as build out new features.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience
  
• 3-5 years working with Ruby
  
• 1-2 years working with Ruby on Rails
  
• Experience with REST APIs
  
• Rigorous testing with rSpec
  
• MySQL
  
• Lucene/Solr
  
• Capistrano
  
• Competent with Linux (don’t need to know everything but you shouldn’t need training wheels)

Bonus Points

• Experience working with OAuth

• Experience integrating with various social networks using their APIs
• Experience developing social network-specific applications
• Experience working with social network data portability protocols (ex. Facebook Connect, MySpace Data Availability, OpenSocial, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of Git SCM
• Experience scaling (not the servers/hardware but the application)- this involves DB sharding and caching (including workin

I work at mirRoR, where we connect agile Rails developers and employers.

We started as Rails programmers ourselves (and are currently working on a few social, facebook, and iPhone apps). This background and network help us identify quality opportunities in the industry.

That’s especially important today. While many venture-backed web 2.0 startups are cutting costs amidst this economic climate, we are working with a number of companies that are self-sufficient, cash-positive, and well capitalized for the long-term.
