Payments Gateway on Rails

We are a trusted network-gateway company looking for a Web Developer. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience with the ability to work independently or with other developers, great communication skills and a passion to keep up with the latest web development technologies while maintaining the ability to adapt to changing requirements.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of strong Ruby on Rails development experience
  • UNIX skills - understanding of UNIX permissions, directory structure, common UNIX commands and basic scripting, etc
  • Experience with some form of source control (cvs, svn, git, etc)
  • Experience setting up an Apache web server using modrails (aka Phusion Passenger)
  • Strong JavaScript skills, experience with AJAX. jQuery experience is a plus, but the person should at least have used two of the public JavaScript libraries out there enough to be able to compare them (Prototype, Mootools, jQuery, YUI, script.aculo.us, etc).
  • Understands SQL and is comfortable writing their own queries
  • Experience setting up a database (MySQL, PostgreSQL) for use with Rails.
  • Experience with REST web services, understands Rails routing
  • Solid understanding of HTML with CSS, web standards, JSON, and AJAX programming.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Five to seven years of web development and applications experience
