E-Commerce on Rails

We are a young and rapidly growing e-commerce business seeking a senior software developer to help with the redesign of proprietary software in ruby/rails and lead our development group as we continue to grow.

We’re looking for a highly-motivated, intelligent, and proactive developer that will work closely with one of the best ruby/rails companies in the world as they help build our new platform, and then continue to improve upon it once the project is complete.

You:
- Passionate software developer
- At least 6 months of ruby/rails experience (the more the better)
- 3 or more years of general development experience
- Has lead team-based software projects from conception to completion
- A firm grasp of technical details with the ability to explain them in non-technical terms
- Driven, but with an easy-going personality and a good sense of humor
- Lives in the DC area (or willing to relocate – DC’s fun these days!)

The Position:
- Will spend next 6 months working with an incredible ruby/rails company to design the next gen of our propriety software
- Once project is complete, will lead 3-4 person team in maintaining and improving upon proprietary software (both internal inventory management & external e-commerce)
- Will both work on defined projects and be challenged with coming up with new, better ways of doing business and then implementing those ideas in a team environment
